QR codes

QR code review badges that scan on the first try

A QR code is a square barcode that phone cameras recognize instantly. Point the camera at it, and a link pops up. That universal support is why every badge we make includes one, printed large and dark enough to read under a porch light or in bright sun.

It works alongside the NFC chip as a reliable fallback, and some customers simply prefer it.

Universal compatibility

Built-in camera apps on iPhone and Android have recognized QR codes for years, so nearly any smartphone your customers own can scan one. Customers do not have to know what NFC is or find where their phone’s antenna sits. They point the camera and tap the link that appears.

For customers who are wary of holding their phone against something unfamiliar, scanning from a foot away feels more comfortable.

What makes a QR code scan reliably

Size

Bigger codes scan from farther away and in worse light. We give the code the largest share of the card while leaving room for your logo and the review instruction.

Contrast

Dark modules on a light background scan best, which is exactly what a black code on our bright white card delivers.

Quiet zone

A clear margin around the code helps cameras find its edges. Crowding a logo against it causes misreads, so we keep that margin intact.

Error correction

QR codes include redundant data, so a small scratch or glare spot does not prevent a scan.

Scanning tips to share with your team

  • Hold the badge flat and still, angled away from overhead light to reduce glare on the clear holder window.
  • Let the customer’s camera focus for a moment before moving.
  • At night, use the customer’s own phone light or step under a porch light.
  • If a camera does not react, open the camera app’s QR option or try the NFC tap instead.

QR codes that point exactly where you want

Generic QR generators online sometimes wrap your link in their own redirect, which can expire or show ads when a free trial ends. We encode your Google review link directly, so the code keeps working regardless of any third-party service.

Your proof email lists the exact link we are encoding, so you can open it yourself and confirm it lands on your review form before approving.

Questions we hear

Can I get a QR-only badge without NFC?+

Our badges include both. NFC adds tap convenience at no extra cost, and the QR code covers phones without NFC.

Will the clear holder window cause glare?+

Sometimes, under direct overhead light. Tilting the badge slightly solves it.

Can customers scan the code from a photo later?+

Phone galleries on many devices can detect QR codes in photos, so a customer who snaps a picture can open the link later.
